Galveston Mardi Gras February 14 – 25, 2020
If you’re looking for a unique Mardi Gras experience in 2020, grab some beads and hit the beach. Mardi Gras! Galveston, the third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States, offers the unique chance to experience sand between your toes and gorgeous beach sunsets while taking in the revelry and lavish parades known to dominate Galveston Island during carnival season.
The island’s 109th Mardi Gras celebration begins February 14 ending with Fat Tuesday on February 25, 2020. The celebration is expected to draw more than 350,000 attendees for 30+ concerts, parades, balcony parties and several elegant balls.
Lone Star Rally
Galveston Lone Star Rally November 5 – 8, 2020
The Lone Star Rally attracts over 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts during the four-day rally. The Lone Star rally is the largest four-day rally in the United States.
Galveston Dickens On The Strand December 6 – 8, 2019
Galveston’s world famous Victorian holiday festival is held the first weekend of December. The annual holiday street festival is set against the historical backdrop of Galveston’s Strand Historic District. Participants dressed in Victorian fashion are admitted for ½ price.
For over 25 years, the Galveston Arts Center has sponsored ArtWalk on Saturday nights from 6-9 PM in the heart of the Strand Historic District. These are the following dates for ArtWalk: November 30, 2019, January 18, 2020, March 7, 2020, April 18, 2020, May 30, 2020, July 11, 2020, August 22, 2020, October 10, 2020, and November 27, 2020.
Visitors stroll from gallery to gallery and the fun spills out into the streets, with food and drink vendors lining the sidewalk.
